Pull Over Info
We begin the morning with a hardy breakfast after which we load up the Harleys® for one last time as we ride south to Boise. From Riggins we ride along the Little Salmon River and enter the town of New Meadows; from here join the start of Highway 55 or the Payette Scenic Byway. We stop in McCall for lunch and then head off for the last 100 miles of our tour. We will be riding along the Payette River until we reach Horseshoe Bend. As we reach the summit of Horseshoe Bend Hill, Boise is becomes visible in the valley below. Just a short ride into Boise and the journey will be at an end.

After our morning breakfast, we climb aboard the Harleys® for our last day of the tour as we head toward Boise; the final stop of this adventure.
Riding south we travel along the eastern edge of the Seven Devils Mountain Range while enjoying the fresh morning air. We arrive in the resort town of McCall, Idaho which is located on the southern shore of Payette Lake.
Payette Lake is a 5,330 acre expanse of clean, glacial water at an elevation of about 5,000 feet in the forests of Idaho. Over 10,000 years ago Payette Lake was carved out by a glacier 1,000 ft high, 2.5 miles wide and 8 miles long. At its deepest point the lake is 392 ft deep. The lake offers excellent boating and several sandy beaches all with the backdrop of spectacular mountain scenery. Locals and tourists alike enjoy playing on the lake and there are several events held each year.
After a brief stop, we continue south along the Payette River Scenic Byway. The Byway meanders through foothills, mountain valleys, canyons, forests, and wide-open valleys with expansive vistas. We pass Lake Cascade and follow the winding mountainous road along the Payette River.
A drive along the Payette River Scenic Byway can be very distracting for Harley riders. Rather than watching the road, you may be more inclined to watch the river as it crashes and tumbles its way over the rocks through the narrow river valley. The best thing to do is take advantage of the occasional pull-offs that allow you to view wilder parts of the river and treat your senses to the sight, sound, smell, and rhythm of Idaho's famous whitewater. Conditions permitting, we will stop at one or more of these pull-offs. Riding along the Payette River you will experience both the thunderous roll of the whitewater and the quiet serenity of the valley landscapes.
Arriving at the summit of Horseshoe Bend Hill, we see the city of Boise. Just a short 20 mile drive and we will be at the end of this fabulous ride.
We arrive at the hotel for our final evening before departing for home. After returning the Harleys® to the Dealership, you will have time to relax at the hotel prior to our Farewell dinner.
We at Sawtooth Motorcycle Tours hope that your ride has been enjoyable and we look to see you on another of our Harley® adventures.
Ride Safe.
