Yeoolwstone National Park

Day four of the ride has us returning to Yellowstone National Park where we will have time to explore the natural wonders of Yellowstone.  Departing Cody, we travel north and turn west onto the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway (Wyoming 296), which takes us through Cooke City and into the park at the northeast entrance.  We will spend one or two evenings inside the park where we will visit many sights such as Old Faithful, the Upper & Lower Falls, historic Yellowstone lodges, Yellowstone Lake, Mammoth Hot Springs, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Norris Geyser Basin and observe the wild animals that call Yellowstone their home.

We will traverse through the park to Canyon Village where we will check in to the hotel.  Then head back up to Tower Junction in time to board the Wagon Train for dinner.  A 3-4 mile ride in horse drawn wagons will bring us to the Old West campgrounds for dinner.  When dinner is over we board the wagons to bring us back to the Tower Junction and the historic Roosevelt Lodge.

We mount the bikes for the ride back to Canyon Village.  We need to ride cautiously, this is the time many animals will be out looking for their evening refreshments in the streams, crossing the roads, and generally reclaiming the land they claim to be their own.  Once safely back some may choose to take the hike to the Upper and Lower Falls of the Canyon.  If you go this can be a great hike, be warned, going down is much easier than going back up!
