Arrival Day
Tour Information Arrive in Boise, check in, taste some wine, rent a bike!

Idaho welcomes the four seasons with diversity and beauty in each.  Idaho is bordered to the north by Canada, the west by Washington and Oregon, the south by Nevada and Utah, and the east by Wyoming and Montana it is one of the few states sharing so many neighbors.  You will find deserts, rivers, canyons, mountains, lakes, just about everything except the ocean and it is all a great ride on a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle.

High Desert Harley Davidson

It is important that all Sawtooth Motorcycle Tour clients arrive on the day before we LEAVE on the Tour.  Ideally you should  arrived in Boise before noon on the start date shown on the specific Tour Overview page  for each tour.  We have called this the Arrival Day and we have activities planned, including completing the motorcycle rental if required, a wine tasting tour, and our first Meet & Greet group dinner.  Please contact us if you have any questions abut the tour dates.

If this is your first time to Idaho, you may want to arrive even earlier and explore the surrounding area.  Boise, the largest city in a 400 mile radius, is a western cosmopolitan area that has been noted in numerous publications as an economically vibrant and growing community.

Early arrival will provide time to rest and relax and visit the local High Desert Harley-Davidson® dealer to complete all of the rental documents and get checked out on your motorcycle (Rental Page).  Be sure to tell the folks at the rental desk that you are a member of the Sawtooth Motorcycle Tour group.  We have made arrangements for your special treatment and hopefully you have already selected and reserved your motorcycle.  If you will be riding your own scooter this will not be necessary, but you should still consider early arrival as part of the adventure.  For our pre-journey activities we will head off to a couple of local wineries for some wine tasting.  Of course we will leave the bikes behind!  Following the wine tasting we will assemble for dinner so we can get to know each other, meet your guides and the other members of the touring party, describe the logistics of the tour, review our safety information, and answer any questions that may come up.  It might be a good idea to figure out exactly what you can carry on the motorcycle and how it is all going to fit.  You will be able to leave anything that you are not taking with you at the hotel.  We will be returning to this hotel at the end of the tour.  Finally, we encourage you all to get rested for the ride tomorrow.
